Sam Batley is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist working across film photography, analogue collage and poetry — based between Liverpool and Barnsley. His practice is personal and socially engaged, often made alongside the people and communities he photographs.

He debuted his first solo exhibition and photobook, Standing In the Same River Twice, at Satellite Gallery in November 2024, and his work has been shown at Open Eye Gallery and Rope and Twines on Bold Street. At 90 Rose Place, Sam's studio is being built as a dedicated darkroom — developing and printing film on site.
